Attorney Rob Longstreet has specialized in Medicaid and nursing home legal issues for over 25 years. He continues to educate himself on the ever-changing rules regarding Medicaid eligibility, which are updated several times each year. With his in-depth knowledge and understanding of Medicaid and nursing home law, he is uniquely positioned to help his clients better understand their options, which results in few questions and cost savings. He regularly presents seminars and publishes updates regarding Medicaid and long term care issues. He is a former member of the Elder Law Council for the State Bar of Michigan. Rob is a graduate of Hastings High School, Alma College and Wayne State University School of Law.

Kathy joined Longstreet Elder Law & Estate Planning to bring her medical knowledge and compassion to the firm. Kathy received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University. She has been a practicing Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years. Kathy has a passion for and expertise in prevention, wellness, and women’s health. She enjoys partnering with individuals to help them write their own health chapter.
Kathy finds her most valued and important role as a health care provider is to help individuals advocate for their own wellbeing. Her philosophy in caring for others assists our long term care clients and their families navigate smoothly what often can be an overwhelming and stressful life transition when seeking skilled nursing care home placement.
Sue Laurian

Sue graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Education. With over 20 years experience in teaching, she has touched the lives of many students with whom she holds dear, fostering growth and learning with a heart of service. For the past 15 years, she has worked in management roles, including elderly services where she worked to improve the quality of life for seniors, dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors with care and respect . Above all, Sue’s most treasured role is that of a mother and a grandmother and she hopes to bring the same love, patience, and devotion from her personal life that she strives for to everyone she serves – committed to helping others in all stages of life.
Amy Collins
Legal Assistant
Amy is a legal assistant whose primary focus is supporting Attorney Longstreet with estate planning.
She joined the firm in 2022. Amy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University. She brings years of experience in data and project management to the firm.
Amy specializes in helping clients build a customized estate plan to meet their specific needs, ensuring peace of mind for the future.
Ann Beemer

Ann helps support the staff and provide continuity for an organized and efficient work environment.
She joined the firm in 2024 after spending over 25 years teaching at Hastings High School. Ann received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Science Education from Western Michigan University.
Ann is passionate about serving the community and looks forward to building relationships with clients as they plan for their next stage in life.
Deb Vist
Medicaid Assistant
Deborah (Deb) Vist joined the legal team at Longstreet Elder Law and Estate Planning in August 2024 as a Medicaid Assistant. Deb earned a Paralegal AAS degree from Kellogg Community College in December 2010, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
She worked for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for more than 10 years, specializing in Long-Term Care Medicaid.
Deb brings to the firm an immense knowledge base as it relates to Long-Term Care Medicaid and understands the complexities in navigating through the policies and procedures to become Medicaid eligible. She is detail-oriented and commits herself to completing her responsibilities in an efficient yet accurate manner.
Deb is patient, dedicated and compassionate toward our clients and their family members. She takes pride in her work and goes beyond expectations to meet the needs of our aging community.
